Road Bike Frame
The most important thing to consider when choosing your
road bike frame is whether you are looking for comfort or speed. A correctly
sized frame will improve both but to get the most benefits in either
area you will have to compromise.
If you are looking to ride recreationally or interested in touring then
comfort will be a high priority for you. On the other hand, if you are
looking to race or take shorter rides then you may want to look into
a road bike frame configuration that gives you the most power and aerodynamic
efficiency. This will vary depending on your body size but in general
a racing frame will have a high seat post angle – this means the
seat is farther back from the handlebars, resulting in the rider leaning
forward.
A more comfortable position is to sit upright, with the seat further
up. This doesn’t give you as much power but it is much better
for endurance and leisurely rides.
